About Us
The Source of Alamance County is a local food pantry that is a bank for both spiritual and physical needs. With the support of churches, businesses, and volunteers, we provide essential resources to those in need — including the elderly, veterans, disabled, and children.
Our Mission

Our Mission is to reflect the love and compassion of Jesus Christ by providing food and support to those in need within our community.
We strive to serve with dignity, respecting each individual's circumstances, and fostering a spirit of hope and unity. Our commitment is to alleviate hunger, offer nourishment, and provide spiritual and physical aid to hurting people and demonstrate God's grace through generous giving and heartfelt service.
The orgnaization serves to comfort all who mourn, to give beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified. We declare that through this ministry, the old ruins will be rebuilt, the former desolations and ruined cities of many generations will be repaired and restored, and the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ will touch every nation, tribe, and tongue.
Our Story
The Source is a food pantry dedicated to serving individuals and families in need throughout Alamance County.
In March 2024, God gave Mitch, the co-founder, a powerful dream: he and his wife and co-founder, Jennifer, stood in the middle of a bank as many people entered the building seeking help - yet no one was there to serve them. Outside the building hung a large sign that read simply, "Source." In that moment, the Lord spoke: "I am going to use you and your wife to be the source to provide for these people physically and spiritually." The dream stayed quietly in their hearts.
Later that year, in September 2024, the Lord called Mitch, Jennifer, and their two daughters to leave everything behind and move to Texas to make disciples. There, while serving at Shepherd's Heart in Taylor, TX, they prayed for their hearts to be broken by what breaks the heart of God.
It was during this season - while working alongside an older couple who had dedicated their lives to serving the forgotten and overlooked - that the vision for The Source of Alamance County began to take shape. Mitch and Jennifer witnessed not only poverty, but deep despair in those who had yet to encounter the love of Christ. Their hearts were moved, and a divine blueprint for The Source was born.
In 2025, The Source of Alamance County will become a 501(c)(3) organization. Today, the mission continues: to serve as a place of both physical provision and spiritual hope - for Alamance County, surrounding areas, and beyond.

Faith: Jesus encouraged His followers to have faith in God and in His plan for thier lives, even in the face of challenges.
Peace:
Jesus taught the importance of pursuing peace and resolving conflicts peacefully rather than resorting to violence.
Our Founders
Mitch and Jennifer both served in emergency services for over 20 years responding to multiple types of emergency calls and critical incidents. During that time they witnessed and interacted with people in situations that the general public does not see.
They witnessed poverty, homelessness, neglect, abuse, food insecurities and many other crisis situations. Each incident left an impression on their hearts to one day become a resource for these individuals and families. They feel that the alarm has sounded and they have been dispatched to be a resource for these families and others in their hometown of Alamance County. Answering this call with them are their two daughters Maddux and Londyn.
